You remember the old saying "behind every good man is a good woman" well I think in the case of Peyton Manning's wife Ashley this saying holds true.

Ashley Manning - just letting the name roll from your lips immediately suggests the Old South with all its charm. Indeed, she was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and along with three siblings, an older sister and a younger brother and sister, she was raised in the atmosphere of exuding southern charm and hospitality. Although her father was a successful investment banker and real estate developer and her mother was a stay-at-home mom, the children learned early in life to care for and give to others. Her parents would take the children to help other families not as fortunate as they, and this made a lasting impression on Ashley Manning. The example set by her parents was so ingrained in her that during her junior high school years, she became involved in a summer program called Service Over Self in which students worked with disadvantaged families in renovating their homes. The program called for students to volunteer for a week during the summer. Ashley Manning, always willing to give more, worked for four weeks.

According to her sister, Allison Luster, Ashley Manning was extremely competitive. For example, Allison laughingly tells the tale that if she, Allison got a 95 for a test grade, say in math, Ashley would report that she had a 98 on her exam in history. Ashley was involved in Youth for Christ in her community and also with tutoring every Saturday with the Boys and Girls Club throughout her high school years.

Once again, we might say, due to her parents’ early influence, Ashley Manning was highly honored for giving to others by being inducted into the Acensus Society, an honor society which recognizes students who have excelled in charity activities. Allison, who is 14 months older than Ashley also reports that they were like twins, even to wearing the same style and color of clothes. That doesn’t mean they always got along; quite the contrary, just like other sisters, they had their fights also. But now, according to Allison, they are very close, calling each other daily, and she declares that Ashley Manning is the best aunt in the world to her three young daughters. She says the best gifts or toys her kids have, actually are given to them by Ashley and Peyton.

Today Ashley Manning is a typical, attractive, young lady (31 years old) who is the proud wife of Peyton Manning, quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts. She is still energetic, she still loves to have fun, and she still has that Southern drawl. As a modern wife and a working woman following in the footsteps of her father as a real estate developer, Ashley Manning keeps busy with her special interest projects, never forgetting the impact of her childhood experiences in helping others.
